Get to Know the New Carrollton Rainbow Mobile App!

The mobile app is not yet available in the app stores (though it should be soon), but you can download it to your Apple or Android device now at http://app.carrolltonrainbow.com/install.

Let's talk a little bit about what you can do within the mobile app! This blog post will serve as a "how to" guide for those who are new to utilizing the services.

1. Signing up.

You can sign up using socials to log in or using your email address and a password.

Once you've completed your profile information, a message will be sent to the

Admin users so that they can approve your membership. You will receive an email

once that is completed, and then you can sign in.

2. Your user profile. Once you sign into the app, click the three lines in the upper

   lefthand corner. You can then click on your profile icon at the top to do things like reviewing your profile and editing your settings.

   

You can edit your profile to add a photo of yourself and a banner, include details about yourself like your email address and job title, and more.

Settings will allow you to determine when you'd like to receive a notification.

You can get email notifications and/or push notifications to your phone.

3. The Community tab.

   

   The Community tab will function much like Carrollton Rainbow's Facebook page. Only Admins can create posts, here, but anyone can comment or like the posts. This page is used more for announcements.

   

This is also where Community Rules are housed. Click on the About section to review those. If you are familiar with our Facebook group, these rules will look familiar.

4. Chat Spaces

   Chat Spaces is a feature we are excited about. This will function much like a Reddit

   forum. When you initially visit, you will need to check out the "Discover" tab. This will let you see all of our spaces and decide which ones you'd like to follow.

We have created a variety of spaces, but we're always open to ideas for new ones.

Once you've followed, move to the "Following" tab to see the conversations.

Here you can jump into conversations or click on the + sign at the upper righthand corner

to start your own thread.

5. Events!

   This is great for folks who don't love social media. You'll get an events page, much like Facebook, but without the hassle of... Facebook. The List tab will show a list of all upcoming events.

   

The Calendar tab will let you select specific dates to see what events are going on.

Another cool feature is Tags. You can choose not to receive notifications for all events, but the Tags section will let you choose specific types of events that you DO want to receive notifications for. This is great if you're primarily interested in only one or two types of events such as Drag or events taking place in Newnan.

Something else we're excited about is the ability for Community Members to be able to add their own events to the roster. This is great for groups that we partner with or members looking for friends who are wanting to invite the community out for Karaoke.

6. Blog. There's a tab for easy access to recent blog posts. It will allow you to click through to view the entire post on our website if you'd like to see more.

   

7. Links & Resources.

   You can access our website, donation page, volunteer signup, and social media links here.

   

8. Members.

   Here we have a membership roster. By default, we will only include Board Members, but if you'd like to add yourself, you're welcome to. You can include whatever contact information you'd like, but we just ask that you be careful if you include yourself here since we can't control what happens outside of the app. We recommend that you do not use the Map feature (don't give the app location permissions).
