Trans & Non-Binary Connect

Carrollton Rainbow is thrilled to announce a fresh chapter for our Trans and Non-Binary Peer-to-Peer Support & Social Group. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or are just hearing about us, we want you to have a seat at the table.

A Space Built for You

We are deeply grateful to the local churches that hosted us for various events over the years. However, we know that for many in the LGBTQIA+ community, religious spaces can carry heavy weight. Your comfort is our priority.

To ensure everyone feels safe and seen, we’ve partnered with Carroll County Mental Health Advocates to provide a neutral, affirming, and trauma-informed environment for our monthly gatherings.

The Details

Who: Anyone 18+ under the Trans/Non-Binary/Gender-Expansive umbrella.

When: The fourth Thursday of every month at 6pm.

Where: Carroll County Mental Health Advocates.

The Vibe: Low pressure, high support. Come as you are—whether you’re "out" to the world, exploring your fluidity, or anywhere in between.

Help Us Shape the Future

This isn't just a meeting; it’s a community. Beyond our monthly check-ins, we want to get out into Carrollton together! We are looking for your input on:

Social Outings: Which LGBTQIA+ safe spots should we hit for dinner or drinks?

Activities: Would you prefer low-key coffee hangouts, game nights, or local hikes?

Topics: What do you want to talk about? From transition resources to just venting about the week—this space belongs to you.

Your voice matters. If there is something that would make it easier for you to attend or feel more included, please reach out. We are building this together, one Thursday at a time.

Our community thrives when everyone feels welcome, respected, and secure. The Safe Space Network is a coalition of local businesses and organizations committed to fostering an inclusive environment for the LGBTQIA+ community and all individuals in Carrollton.

What is a Safe Space?

A Safe Space is more than just a sticker on a window—it is a public commitment. By joining this network, your business pledges to:

Provide a Welcoming Environment: Ensure that all patrons are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
Stand Against Discrimination: Maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or exclusionary behavior within your establishment.
Support the Community: Act as a visible ally where LGBTQIA+ individuals can feel confident they are in a supportive atmosphere.

How the Program Works

We want to celebrate the businesses that make Carrollton a better place to live and work. When you join the network:

Get Stickered: We will provide you with an official Carrollton Rainbow Safe Space window decal to display prominently at your entrance.
Get Featured: We will add a dedicated blurb about your business to our website, including a photo of your storefront and a link to your site or social media.
Build Connection: Your business will be listed as a recommended destination for our community members and allies looking to support inclusive local commerce.
